Trust / Editorial policy
Editorial standards for RevIQ payer intelligence.
Revenue-cycle teams make real decisions from payer guidance. These standards govern everything published in the Revenue Intelligence library and the Payer Intelligence Center.
Principles
- Authoritative sources only
- Payer-specific content is based on current documentation published by the payer or government program, such as provider manuals, medical policies, bulletins, and CMS or MAC guidance.
- Source and date reviewed on every payer article
- Each payer-specific article lists its sources and the date each source was last reviewed, so readers can judge currency.
- Named authorship and review
- Articles identify who wrote them and, where applicable, who reviewed them for revenue-cycle accuracy.
- Updates are dated, not hidden
- When requirements change, articles are updated and the updated date is shown alongside the original publication date.
- Reimbursement support, not clinical advice
- Content addresses billing, authorization, and reimbursement. It does not provide medical or legal advice.
- No invented policy
- If a requirement cannot be verified from an authoritative source, it is not published.
Payer content workflow
- 01
Source
Locate the current authoritative document: the payer's provider manual, medical or reimbursement policy, bulletin, or the applicable CMS, MAC, or state Medicaid guidance.
- 02
Verify
Confirm the effective date and scope. If the source is ambiguous or cannot be confirmed, the requirement is not published.
- 03
Translate
Explain what the requirement means for billing, authorization, or documentation workflows, in plain language.
- 04
Review
A second reviewer with revenue-cycle experience checks the article against the source before publication.
- 05
Date
Record the date each source was reviewed and show it on the article. Payer content is re-checked and the updated date shown when it changes.

Revenue Audit
Put sourced payer intelligence to work on your denials.
A RevIQ revenue audit looks at denied, unpaid, underpaid, and authorization-related claims, identifies what is still recoverable, and shows where the pattern starts. Prefer to talk first? Schedule a call.
